NeuroWave Fishing Charters was born from a love of the ocean and a strong connection to Durban’s fishing community. The company provides guided fishing experiences across the bay, backline, reefs, mid-deep and offshore waters.
From someone holding a fishing rod for the first time to an experienced angler chasing the next memorable outing, every charter is planned around the selected trip, seasonal opportunities and prevailing marine conditions.

Dr Ashleigh Bhanjan is the owner and founder of NeuroWave Fishing Charters and also serves as one of its skippers. His leadership has shaped the company’s proudly Durban identity and its connection to local anglers.
His vision for NeuroWave is centred on creating enjoyable, guided fishing experiences where individuals, families and groups can spend meaningful time on the water, regardless of their previous fishing experience.
JOHNATHAN WEST
CAPTAIN
SAMSA-CERTIFIED SKIPPER
Johnathan West serves as captain and skipper aboard NeuroWave. The company’s public operator profile identifies him as SAMSA certified and records more than 18 years of seaworthy experience.
His role includes guiding guests, assisting with fishing techniques and planning the day’s route according to marine weather, safe sea conditions and the intended nearshore or offshore fishing area.

29-FOOT GECAT
TWIN 200 HP SUZUKI ENGINES
Guests fish aboard NeuroWave, a 29-foot GeCat Marine centre-console vessel powered by twin 200 HP Suzuki engines. Its spacious deck provides a practical working platform for bay, nearshore and offshore fishing.
The vessel accommodates up to 10 guests and is equipped with GPS, radar, a fishfinder, outriggers and a live-bait well, supporting a range of fishing environments and techniques.
